DT
Yesterday in Design and Technology, I continued to work on my car for the races next week. It worked BRILLIANTLY! I got every time I raced under 3s for my car. Some of my times were, 2.738, and the next two times I got these 'times' I raced Mr Ward and BEAT his car 'Glory'. It was so cool. His car was not yet beaten. And I made new records for my car with my top 2 times being, 2.642 and even '2.604'. It was amazing. I just need to fix up a few things to make it perfect and so it can go even faster, but overall I think I'm looking forward to try to win the 5 chocolates Mr Ward has on offer. This is what "Flash" looks like:

DT
For the past few days, I have continued to work on my vehicle. I have constructed my vehicle. I have wired all of my wires up, and the car is working. However the first time I wired it up, I had to switch some of the wires around because the wheels went the other way. It was really strange but I fixed it. But overall it was working really well. I put it on the track and the time I got was 3.14 seconds. It was really good for my first time. I still need to shorten the wires and librate it with wax so it will create less friction. But so far it working well. I also need to solder my wires as well. Therefore it is working really well. This is what it looks like so far.

Lunchtime DT
Today, I went into the workshop at lunchtime and worked on my car. All I needed to do was glue everything on. The next bit that I will glue on next time is the motor and batteries. Therefore it was a really productive lunch.
DT
Today in DT, I had a very productive and fun day. First up we went straight into the workshop and were continuing to work on our cars. On mine I was measuring the metal bars to fit my body and the front an back wheels. I then cut the metals to size using large bolt cutters as they are the best to use. Then I used the chisel and hammer to cut the white bars. I got this all done. I then made wooden plates and the bottom of the body for the front and back so the axels would not wobble or come off. This worked very well. I then tried gluing on the axels on. It went to plan perfectly. After this I just put the gears on. Mr Ward told the class to use the big gears as they work best. Therefore it was very simple from then on.
Velocity
What is Velocity?
Velocity is the rate of change of the position of an object, equivalent to a specification of its speed and direction of motion. For motion in one dimension, velocity can be defined as the slope of the position vs. time graph of an object. Speed describes only how fast an object is moving, whereas velocity gives both how fast and in what direction the object is moving. If a car is said to travel at 60 km/h, its speed has been specified. However, if the car is said to move at 60 km/h to the north, its velocity has now been specified.

DT
Today in DT, we went into the workshop and continued to test and form a car to race on the track. Mr Ward also showed us how to use bolt cutters and how this new cutter is better than the others used as this had bigger clamps which gave it an advantage. This also shows a mechanical advantage as well. Therefore I had a very productive lesson. For tomorrow's lesson I will trying to get the measurements right. And I also will go in to the workshop during lunch to work on our car.

DT
For the past few days in design and technology, we have been ideating and getting an idea of what our cars will look like. At the moment, mine is going well. I have a shape of what I would like to have. I want my car small and narrow. Through being narrow, there will be less friction from the air resistance. I also think that if I have a short car, this will create less weight so then the car can go faster as it doesn't have to pull so much weight on the motor. Therefore my car is coming along well. All I need to figure out is the exact measurements for my car.
